Managing Reference Data: Bee Races, Hive Types & More

Under Settings → Configuration → Manage Reference Data, you maintain the pick-lists you choose from throughout the app whenever you describe a colony or a queen.

Which lists are available

• Colony characteristics
• Bee races
• Hive types
• Colony temperament
• Colony strength
• Queen birth years
• Queen mating
• Grassland temperature sum (threshold values)

Adding a new entry

Open the list you want, then tap Add. Enter the value and fill in any extra fields the list supports — for some lists, for example, a weight in kg.

Editing an entry

Tap an existing entry to edit it, then save your change.

Deactivating an entry

If you no longer need an entry, you can deactivate it instead of deleting it. Deactivated entries move to an archive and are no longer offered in the pick-lists. You can reactivate them at any time.

Why there’s no permanent deletion

Entries are never permanently deleted. This way, older colonies, queens, and checks that reference a deactivated entry stay complete and correct — even long after you’ve cleaned up the list.
