“Parked” colonies – what does that mean?

A colony always belongs to an apiary, but it doesn’t have to sit on a hive stand at all times. A colony with no current hive stand is called parked.

When a colony is parked

This happens, for example, right after you remove a colony from a hive stand, or as long as you haven’t yet assigned a hive stand to a newly created colony. A parked colony remains fully intact — only its current location is missing.

Finding and assigning a parked colony

Open the overview of the apiary the colony belongs to and tap Parked colonies. Select the colony you want and assign it to a free hive stand.

Across apiaries too

You can assign a parked colony not only to a hive stand within the same apiary, but also to a free hive stand at a different apiary. The colony is then moved there.

Where to find this in the app

Open an apiary via Home and tap Parked colonies in the overview.
