Add a hardware device with a claim code

You can connect physical devices such as a hive scale or a weather station to your account, so their readings automatically show up in bee-pilot.io.

How to add a device

Open Settings → Device management and tap Add device with claim code.

Where the claim code comes from

Every physical device comes with a claim code, usually printed on the box, in the manual, or provided by the manufacturer. Enter this code in the app to link the device to your account.

Assigning the device to an apiary

After entering the code, choose which apiary the device belongs to. If needed, you can also assign it to a specific hive stand. A device is always bound at the apiary or hive stand level, never directly to a single colony — if it’s bound to a hive stand, its readings automatically apply to whichever colony currently occupies that stand.

After adding the device

Once claimed, the device appears in your device list with its manufacturer, model, and a status showing whether it’s currently active or inactive.
