Set up your own beekeeping page

With bee-pilot.io, you can publish a public page about your beekeeping – for example, for a QR code on your honey jar. Anyone who scans it will see where the honey comes from.

You can find the section under Settings → Public Page → Manage My Beekeeping Page.

The Basic Principle: Insight Instead of Double Entry

You don’t need to enter anything twice. The page displays excerpts of what you are already managing in bee-pilot.io – number of colonies, bee breeds, weather at the locations. How deep this insight goes is up to you for each area.

One point is firmly built-in: the exact location of your apiaries will never be published. At most, the region and a rough flight radius around its center will be shown.

What You Need to Get Started

• An active subscription. The beekeeping page is part of your paid access. Without an active subscription, you can create and design the page, but you cannot publish it.
• Your acceptance of the terms of use for the beekeeper page. You give it once, together with the address, in the first step of the setup. The text is published on our website and linked there — it also covers which of your data is shown publicly.

The Address of Your Page

When creating, you choose the address under which your page is accessible – for example, compass.bee-pilot.io/imkerei-mueller. Choose it wisely: it will later appear on your labels. Allowed are lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens, and each address can only be used once.

The address is part of the bee-pilot.io domain. You may use it as long as your page exists — this does not create any ownership of it or claim to it. If you reset your page, it stays reserved for you for another 90 days; after that another beekeeper can take it.

Guided Setup

When you first open it, a short process will guide you through the essentials:

1. Set your page address
2. Colors – a scheme and an accent color
3. Header – title and a picture of you or your logo
4. Blocks – pick them and set them up one after another
5. Imprint – write it, paste it, or have the AI create it
6. Privacy policy – the same, written from your imprint details and from what your page actually does with visitors’ data
7. Findability on Google – disabled by default

At the end, you will see a summary. None of this is final: everything can be changed later in the editor.

Setting Up on a Big Screen

If you open the editor on your mobile phone, a note will suggest that you do the setup better on a tablet or computer. The reason: you can arrange blocks side by side in columns there, and how it will look later cannot be judged on a narrow screen. You can still work – the note does not lock you out.

Start Over from Scratch

In the page panel, you will find Reset Page. This deletes all blocks, images, texts, the publication and your address – you will then be back where you were before the first setup.

There is a rule regarding the address that you should know before resetting:

• The address will be released.
• For 90 days, only you can use it again. If you create a new page with the same address during this time, you will get it back.
• After that, it will be free for everyone. Another beekeeper can then claim it – and printed labels and QR codes with this address will no longer lead to your page.

The confirmation dialog will remind you of this before you click. If you only want to take the page offline without giving up the address, Take Page Offline is the right way – everything will remain intact.
