Recording a varroa treatment

Treatment recording lets you document which colonies at an apiary were treated against the varroa mite, and with which method.

Getting started

On the apiary’s overview screen, tap Actions and select Varroa → Record treatment. Choose the treatment date and the treatment method, then tap Next.

Multi-day treatments: treatment period

If the selected treatment method has a treatment duration configured in the settings (see “Managing Varroa settings”), the screen also shows a To date alongside the From date. The end date is calculated automatically from the start date and the configured treatment duration, but can be adjusted freely if needed.

The treatment period stays editable at any time, even after starting: while recording is in progress, simply tap the date display at the top to correct the From and To dates afterwards.

Recording treatments per hive stand

The app shows you the hive stands one after another. For each hive stand you can add an optional note and use the toggle between Treatment started and Treatment pending to mark whether that colony has already been treated. Your entries are saved automatically.

Treating all colonies at once

If you’ve treated every colony at an apiary at the same time, you don’t need to mark them one by one: tap Start treatment for all colonies to set every still-open, occupied hive stand to treated in a single step.

Recognizing an active treatment

While a treatment is in progress at an apiary, you’ll see a red Varroa treatment active chip at the top of that apiary’s overview screen. Tapping it reopens the ongoing recording directly — even if you left it in the meantime without finishing.

Managing treatment methods

Which treatment methods you can choose from (e.g. formic acid, oxalic acid), which abbreviation is shown for each in the assessment chart, how long a treatment typically lasts, and how many days without evaluation (waiting period) apply afterwards, is set up in the settings — see “Managing varroa settings”.

Finishing the entry

Your progress is shown continuously. Tap Treatment finished once you’re done — the confirmation prompt makes clear that this ends the whole treatment and its treatment period; your entries are already saved by that point.
