Recording varroa counts by voice

In quick entry you don’t have to type in the values — you can simply speak them instead.

Getting started

In quick entry, tap Record values by voice. This opens voice entry with a short set of instructions:

  1. State the apiary site — first say which apiary site you’re at, e.g. “Site 3”.
  2. State the mite count — say how many mites you counted.
  3. State the second value — say the second value your measurement method needs (e.g. days, number of bees, or number of cells), then move on to the next site.

Starting and stopping the recording

Tap the microphone button to start recording, and tap it again to stop. After a brief countdown the recording runs; afterwards you can listen to a preview before tapping Done.

Values are matched automatically

After Done, the app analyzes what you said and enters the recognized values into the matching apiary sites — just as with manual entry, they’re saved automatically. The app then shows you a summary of how many sites were recognized (e.g. “3/4 sites recorded by voice”). Any sites that couldn’t be matched, you simply enter manually afterwards.
