Moving a colony or creating a split
On a colony’s page, under Actions, you’ll find two related functions: Move and Split (into a nucleus colony).
Moving a colony
With Move, you relocate a colony to a different hive stand — either within the same apiary or to a completely different apiary. Just select the free hive stand you want as the destination.
Creating a split
With Split (into a nucleus colony), you divide an existing colony: part of it becomes a brand-new colony. The original colony continues to exist, and the split appears as an independent new colony, which you can assign a hive stand to as usual.
Lineage stays visible
After creating a split, the app remembers the connection between the original colony and the new split. This means you can always trace back later which colony a particular split originated from.
Where to find this in the app
Open a colony and tap Move or Split (into a nucleus colony) under Actions.
