- Generate access keyIn your Honeylink portal, you create a personal access key - granting read permission for your apiaries and scales. No additional rights are needed.
- Assign scale to the locationYou see your apiaries and their locations. For each location with a scale, you select it. Multiple scales at one apiary are not a problem.
- Values are being inputFrom now on, bee-pilot.io will automatically query Honeylink – hourly, every two hours, or daily. And each synchronization can also be triggered immediately.

You assign each scale to a location. The bee-pilot.io automatically identifies which colony is currently there. If a colony dies and you place a new one in the same spot, it takes over the scale – without you having to reset anything.

The weight where you need it
The value of your scale lands in a free field at your location – and behaves there like any value you would have recorded yourself.
Sync in your rhythm
Hourly, every two hours, or daily. Those who want to take a closer look in between can trigger the synchronization themselves with a tap.
Traceable down to the individual value
The synchronization protocol shows every retrieval attempt for the past 30 days – when it occurred, whether it succeeded, and which value was received from each scale. This explains a gap in the curve.
Your key remains your key.
The access key is stored in an encrypted format and is no longer readable in plaintext – not even by us. Only read access, nothing is changed in Honeylink.
You determine the target field.
Set once which free field the weight will be recorded in – choose an existing one or create a new one directly. This applies to all your scales.
Solvable at any time
Disconnect a single scale or the entire connection at any time. The retrieval ends, but the values already adopted remain yours.
What is not included
The connection retrieves the weight. Nothing else – so that no value is recorded on the stock card that no one has measured.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will my previous measurements be included?
No, there is no import for past data. Your weight curve in bee-pilot.io starts on the day you make the connection and grows from there with each sync. Older data remains in Honeylink.
What happens if my access key expires?
Then the retrieval ends and a gap forms in the curve – the calibration protocol shows you the reason. All values taken over until then remain unchanged; you simply provide a new key.
Do I need to reassign if a colony dies?
No. The scale is assigned to the location, not the colony. If you place a new colony in the same spot, it will automatically take over the scale.
Does the connection cost extra?
No. It is part of your bee-pilot.io access – there is no additional charge and no separate package for it. You will continue to conclude your Honeylink contract directly with the provider: honeylink.io
Does bee-pilot.io change anything in my Honeylink account?
No. Access is read-only. bee-pilot.io retrieves values and does not write anything back.
