Sending documents to bee-pilot.io by mail

Many documents arrive as email anyway: the dealer’s invoice, the lab report, the confirmation from the veterinary office. Instead of downloading the attachment and uploading it again, you simply forward the mail.

How it works

Forward the mail with its attachment to forward@bee-pilot.io. Nothing else is needed – subject and text are up to you, and several attachments in one mail are no problem.

A few moments later the attachments are in the inbox of your file manager.

Which address you have to write from

From the address you registered with at bee-pilot.io. That is how we recognise whose inbox is meant.

If a mail arrives from an address that belongs to no account, it is neither filed nor answered. That is deliberate: a sender address can be forged, and the reply would then reach someone who never wrote.

If you write from several addresses, store the one you want to forward from as the mail address of your account.

The reply

Every mail from a known account gets a short answer back:

  • Arrived. It states how many documents were taken over – and how many were skipped because their format is not supported.
  • That did not work. Then the reason is in it: no attachment, no supported format, or no active subscription.

The reply comes in the language of your account.

This presumes the mail passes our sender check. If it fails there you get no answer at all – not even when the address belongs to your account: after a failed check the sender address is not reliable, and a reply might reach someone who never sent anything.

If nothing arrives

  • Check that you wrote from the address of your account.
  • Check that the attachment really was an attachment and not an image inside the text of the mail.
  • Check format and size: up to 20 MB, videos up to 10 MB.
  • Without an active subscription no documents are filed.
  • Forward the mail directly. If it travels a detour – an automatic forward from another mailbox, a mailing list – our sender check can strike. A mail rejected that way is neither filed nor answered.
